Use Your Vehicle to Advertise Your Small Business

Every business owns a vehicle of some description, but how many businesses use them for more than travelling in? They are mobile billboards that travel around your town or city or they are stationary bill boards that could be showing your business logo, tag line and phone number from a prominent parking space.

If you have to pay for parking anyway, why not maximise the dollars spent and make it an advertising cost. Speak to your accountant to see if you can claim that as an advertising cost for your small business.

Bumper Sticker Quotes

The two most common ways to advertise your business on your vehicle is by a sign written message on the side of your vehicle or by a sign on top of your vehicle. If you opt to have a sign on the sides of your vehicle, these days it can be a permanent sign that has been written onto the paintwork by a sign writer or it can be a magnetic sign that you are able to take off when you want to use your vehicle for personal use.

The two most important things to be aware of if you have your business name and logo on a vehicle is to be sure that your vehicle is always clean and is not too old a model vehicle. To see an old vehicle displaying an advertising sign is showing that the business mustn't be doing too well. Everyone wants to be associated with 'winners' and the other thing is if you have an old vehicle, the chances of you refunding any money back to a client should something go wrong, appears imperceptibly lowered.

A little used tactic for using your vehicle to advertise your business is a sign placed on the bumper bar of your car. These bumper stickers can be a very good form of advertising particularly if you have a 'catchy' message. If you get caught up in traffic frequently, there is always a vehicle behind you and if you have a catchy message, they have time to actually read it and often to jot down your phone number on a piece of paper while you are all waiting for lights to change or the traffic to start moving again.

Today some of them even call you on their mobile phones while waiting in their vehicle sitting behind you.

If you run a second car in the family and this can also carry a sign written message, why not do it? The magnetic or vinyl signs that attach to your vehicles are called decals, by the way. Most sign writers or graphic artists will do up a decal for your vehicles if you ask them. I do strongly suggest though that you get a few quotes in as some of them aren't as familiar with the work as others are and charge you while they learn.

Lastly, be sure to ask and get assurance and a guarantee that these decals have a strong magnet to hold them onto your car at speed. By the same token, you don't want them to scratch your vehicles either so be sure to clarify these details with the decal provider before out-laying any money.
